Monastery tour & Topola ( 120km away from Belgrade): Driving south along the Velika Morava River, through the hearth of Serbia, tour reaches Manasija Monastery. Built in 15th century, complex of buildings, surrounded by strong walls and towers, consists of Monastery, The Church of Holy Trinity and scriptorium where the famous Resava copyist’s school was founded. Next stop is Ravanica Monastery, which was built in 14th century and served as a model for other monasteries built in Morava style. Tour continues nearby Jagodina and Kragujevac. In Kragujevac, a break for lunch at national restaurant will be followed by visit the Šumarice Park where the mass execution was perpetrated by the Nazi invaders, on October 21, 1941. After visit of Kragujevac, tour will continue to the small town of Topola where the King Petar I founded St.George Church as a Mausoluem of Karadjordjević Royal Dynasty. An easy afternoon drive takes you back to Belgrade.
